The SPECIALIST
Valerie was born in New York but raised in Oklahoma for the majority of her life. Her passion for animals has always been there, so as she grew she became able to volunteer and work at her local animal shelter. Valerie graduated CVTech Veterinary Assistant Certification in 2014. She has gained experience in working with various animals through animal shelters, veterinary hospitals, and various grooming salons, as well as, working as an animal control officer. Valerie strives to be knowledgeable and compassionate in every aspect of her life. She has furthered her education by flying to another state for a Small Animal Massage Program, working with AKC to become a Certified AKC CGC evaluator, and even various grooming/ creative grooming classes. Valerie has placed, received, and won awards, ribbons, and rosettes with her Miniature Poodle/ Bichon Frise, Kyoko Fuego Drakon de Sur "Abigail Mae"!
In her downtime, she loves going out with friends and family, while being accompanied by her Multipurpose Service Dog, Clove Vex. Valerie has various medical conditions that make her daily life difficult. She made the decision years ago with her physician's advice, to raise and train a service dog for her. Valerie's service dog journey started with Abigail Mae, as an allergy section / medical alert dog, as her needs changed she needed a larger dog. She found Clove a Great Pyrenees/ Anatolian Shepherd / Sarplaniac mix on a rural farm in Oklahoma. With immense support from friends, family, and the community she was able to get her. Clove's major task is being a Balance & Mobility support, although she does medical alert/ response, behavior interruptions, and more. Valerie is called the specialist because her schedule is ever-changing due to regular appointments to scheduling meetings with clients, vendors, and business associates.
